Edmond Memorial led the local contingent in the team races at the Regional Track Meet as the Bulldogs rolled up 244 points with host Norman a distant second with 98. The Lady Bulldogs were even more dominant with 274 points followed by Westmoore with 90. But Elysia Burgos of Deer Creek took individual honors as the distance demonstrated her combination of speed and endurance at the Santa Fe regional, winning the 800 in 2:22.12, the 1600 in 5:16.08 and the 3200 meters in 11:42.02. Edmond North speed merchant Brock Appiah skipped the 100 meter dash but grabbed gold in the 200 with a time of 21.57 and also ran on the Huskies' 400 and 800 meter relay teams to pick up two more gold medals. Appiah and his teammates came up three points shy in the team race as Santa Fe accumulated 123 points to North's 120. North had 143 points in the girls division while Burgos and her Deer Creek teammates won the runnerup trophy with 117 points.
